James I. Frankenfield, Allentown Policeman
James Ira (Ike) Frankenfield, 69, a veteran Allentown policeman,
died last night at his home, 943 Pine street, Allentown. He
would have been 70 years old next month.
Mr. Frankenfield served on the police force for 44 years.
He was first appointed in 1905 and served until 1908 when he
was dropped during a change in the city administration. In
1911 he was re-appointed to the force, and had served continuously
since then. He had been on an inactive status for the last
month.
He was a member of the Eagles, Sparrow, and Fraternal Order
of Police, all of Allentown. Surviving are a daughter, two
grandchildren, and four brothers. |
