George B. Frankenfield, 94, formerly of Bechtelsville and Allentown, died Monday in Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Lewis) Frankenfield.
He was employed by Pennsylvania Power and Light Co., Allentown, for about 40 years, the last 18 as secretary to the president, working last for Jack K. Busby, before retiring in 1965. He began his utility service in 1925 as a stenographer and clerk.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harvey D. and Martha Jane (Hoffman) Frankenfield.
He was a founder and first secretary of the Allentown Bowling Association, serving 1927-45. He was inducted into its Bowlers Hall of Fame when it was formed in 1971.
He was a member and former deacon of Salem United Church of Christ, Allentown.
He was a 32nd degree Mason in Greenleaf Lodge 561, Allentown.
Survivors: Granddaughter, Deborah A. Frankenfield Mink, with whom he formerly resided in Bechtelsville, four other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, George B. Jr. and William Lewis.
