Mrs. Garis Dies at 93
Was Oldest Member of Memorial Evangelical Church
Mrs. Elizabeth Garis, 93,widow of David Garis, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Walter. 900 South 24th Street, at 9:30 o'clock Saturday Night. Four weeks ago she suffered a stroke and had been confined to her bed since that time. Her husband died 32 years ago.

Mrs. Garis was born in Williams township, a daughter of the late Peter and Sarah Diehl and had resided in this vicinity all her life. She was extremely active for her age and frequently walked from her former home in Hackett Park to and from Easton.

She had a host of friends in this community and was the oldest member of Memorial Evangelical Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Bible class of the church. Mrs. Garis was always active in church work

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Walter, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Malinda Fox of Morgan Hill; Mrs. Louisa Miley, and a brother, Adam Diehl, of Easton.
