Elwood W. Coates
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Strunk Funeral
Home, Easton, for Elwood W. Coates, 60, who died Wednesday
in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Interment will be in
Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Township. Mr. Coates resided at
1340 Green Trail, Forks Township.
Employed for more than 25 years by Taylor-Wharton Co., he
last worked in February.
Born March 26, 1921, in Easton, he was a son of the late Albertus
and Bertha Garis Coates.
Mr. Coates was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church,
Easton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and
fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
His first wife, the former Anna Matyas, died in 1963.
Surviving are his wife, the Alecia A. Wills; Three daughters,
Mrs. Donna Marie Alko, Easton; Mrs. Cinda Ingram, Union, Nj,
and Patricia Ann Coates, at home; three sons, Von Edward Finkbeiner,
Collinsville, Okla.; Scott Bradley Finkbeiner, Bangor, and
Robert Elwood Coates, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte
Reed and Mrs. Shirley Huston, both of Palmer Township and four
grandchildren. |
