Thomas E. Bunting Jr., 63, of 1128 Bangor Road, Nazareth R.3, died Monday in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Katherine (Reichard) Bunting.

Before retiring in 1981, he was chief fireman in the boiler room at Easton Hospital.

Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Sr. and Julia (McCluskey) Bunting.

He was a member of Easton Mennonite Church.

He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict.

Surviving with his widow are four sons, Thomas E. III of Nazareth, John E., with the Seabees in Japan, Robert P. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Thomas J. of New York City; five daughters, Julia Halliday and June Kleintop, both of Easton, Rose Smith and Arlene Breidinger, both of Nazareth, and Kathleen of Long Branch, N.J.; a brother Jacque of Kodiak, Alaska; two sisters, Shirley Inderelst and Janice Strang, and his stepmother, Florence Bunting, all of Easton; 21 grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the church. There will be no calling hours. The Strunk Funeral home, Berwick and Reynolds streets, Easton, is in charge of arrangements.
