Thomas Bunting Sr., Victim of Gun Wound
Thomas E. Bunting Sr., 57, of 908 Palmer Street, West Easton, was found dead at about 1:45 p.m. yesterday at the rear of his home.

Deputy Coroner Fred Ashton said death was due to a gunshot wound in the chest, apparently self-inflicted. According to Mr. Ashton, Mr. Bunting had been under treatment for a nervous condition.

Mr. Bunting was employed as night janitor at the Easton Trust Co, since April. Before that he had been employed for 43 years at the Chipman Knitting Mills.

Born in Browntown, he was a son of the late Thomas and Martha Garis Bunting. He was the husband of the former Florence Hill.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are four daughters, Janice and Judy, both of home; Mrs. Shirley Inderlest, Easton, and Mrs. Joyce Pokoji, Easton R.D. 2; two sons, Thomas, Jr., New York City, and Jacque, in the U.S. Navy stationed in Bermuda; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Werkheiser, Mrs. Jennie Barr, and Mrs. Margaret Larison, all of Easton and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Shillinger Funeral Home, Easton.
