Elwood Brewer, former supervisor in Plainfield twp.
Plainfield Twp., Pa. _ Elwood G. Brewer, 77, of 1105 Ackermanville Road, died Thursday in his home.

He was a Plainfield township Supervisor for 17 years, leaving office in 1976, and was engaged in farming for many years in the township.

Born Oct. 0, 1914, in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Gardner and Orpha Young Brewer.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Plainfield Township, a social member of the Charles Nelson Lobb American Legion Post 502 in Pen Argyl, and a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Union.

He and his wife, the former Viola V. Achenbach, observed their 54th wedding anniversary on April 3.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter’s Lutheran church in Plainfield township. Interment will be in the church cemetery in Plainfield Township. Arrangements are being handled by the Schmidt Home Inc. in Wind Gap.
