Obituary

Thomas E. Bonstein, 91, of Lopatcong Township passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Brakeley Park Center. Born: Born July 29, 1922 in Danbury, CT he was the son of the late John J. and Stella Steeley Bonstein.

Personal: He and his wife, the former Lola Stanganelli, were married May 24, 1969. He was a Chemist with General Analine in Easton and was employed with JT Baker Chemical in Phillipsburg and was Treasurer with Paper Makers Importing Company. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a graduate of Easton High School and attended MIT and Muhlenberg College. He was a drummer and enjoyed music; played on his church softball team where he was a pitcher; enjoyed playing quoits and table tennis; and was an avid Philadelphia and Penn State sports fan.

Memberships: He was a former member and trustee of United Church of Christ on College Hill where he was also a Sunday school superintendent.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Lola; he is survived by a son, Thomas, Jr. and wife Karen of Forks Township; daughter Marjorie Sickle and husband, Franklin, of Palmer Township; a step-son, Malcolm Riffert and wife, Carol, of Macungie, PA; four grandchildren, John Sickle and wife, Kristen, Jeffrey Sickle and wife, Janene, Jennifer Brunetti and husband, Yuri, Gregg Bonstein and wife, Sara; 7 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 13 step-great grandchildren.

A brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Helen Kisselbach, both died earlier.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc. in Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum in Greenwich Township. Online condolences may be offered at www.devlinfh.com. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice .
