Steward J. Anthony
Steward J. Anthony, 85, of 216 N. 7th St., Allentown, a car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 31 years until retiring, died Sunday in Sacred heart Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Agnes Jane (Dilcher) Anthony.
Born in Freemansburg, he was a son of the late Aaron and Susanna B. Anthony.
Surviving are a son Charles of Whitehall; two daughters, Helen, wife of Raymond Dougherty, with whom he resided, and Pauline, wife of Carl Diehl of Allentown; three sisters, Verna Anthony of Rochester, N.Y., Grace, wife of Percy Cressman, of Phillipsburg , and Mrs. Mabel England of Allentown; 36 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 1601 Hamilton St., Allentown. Calling hours will be 7-8:30 p.m. Teusday. |
